Nano to be Launched in America by 2012

Nano will be launched in the American market by Tata either in 2011 or in 2012. The people’s car as it is known globally has been successful among the Indian car lovers since the time it was launched in India. Nano is getting ready to enchant the American car customers, who are choosing the Indian cars at a very high rate

It was by the launch of Nano that the wish of many to own a car became reality. But the Nano that will be introduced in America will be different from the one that has been launched in India. The Tata Nano America will have an upgraded engine, which delivers over 50 mpg in fuel economy, the car will have a three-cylinder gasoline engine; horsepower or the displacement of this engine has not been confirmed by Tata. In place of the of the four-speed manual, which the available in the base Indian model, the American Nano will have a five-speed automatic transmission. The car together with its petrol version will be available in in diesel and electric powertrain.

Tata is expecting a big success for Nano in India.

Indian Car Market Likely to Add Million New Cars by 2014

Indian car market is likely to add a million new cars by 2014. At present the car market beholds about 1.5 million cars and an international research firm, J. D. Power Asia has predicted that by 2010 India will have around 2 million cars. And by 2016 about 2.6 million new cars will be plying on Indian roads.

In the recent months India has witnessed the launch of many new cars including the Fiat Linea, Mahindra Xylo, and the world’s cheapest car Tata Nano. The launch of the Nano has revolutionized the global car industry and is sure to foster the Indian car market.

Apart from new car launches Indian car market will also witness entry of new auto players, new alliances to market new cars and even new synergies like Mahindra-Renault and Tata-Fiat. All these will further add to the growth of the market. The entry of Peugeot will also mark a significant milestone in the history of Indian car industry.

It is believed that the Indian car market is the most promising and one of the fastest growing markets in the worlds. It is even succeeding the most emerging markets like Brazil and Russia. And gradually India may take over China and even U.S. as the world’s largest car market.

2009 WagonR for Indian Roads

Indian car market will soon witness the launch of 2009 WagonR with cosmetic changes and a host of innovations. The facelifted WagonR is expected to be launched in August 2009 and may draw its inspiration from the Japanese WagonR.

The boxy Maruti Suzuki WagonR will now have an aggressive nose, large headlamps, new bumper, and a honeycomb mesh grille. The interior of the car will also be beautified with more functional and elegant features that will make every journey even more pleasurable.

Under the hood the car may still have the same 1.1-litre engine or may borrow the 1.0-litre engine from the successful Alto. You will be more surprised to know that all these modifications in the 2009 WagonR will be available at the same price as the current WagonR.

Maruti is also working on to introduce an upgraded variant of its people carrier Versa. The new Versa is speculated to have a flat roof and is likely to be introduced soon.

Bootless Logan to Enter Indian Car Market

Renault has planned to roll out a bootless Logan on Indian roads. This is no new car for the car market but the Renault Sandero that is soon to hit Indian roads with a big bang. It is known as a bootless Logan because the car manufacturer has designed the Sandero on the platform of Logan and looks much similar to a Logan without a boot.

The exterior of the car is adorned with expressive headlamps, stylish bumper, impressive grille, and seamless profile. In the interior the car is loaded with the state-of-art technologies and functional features.

Priced in the range of Rs 4 to Rs 5 Lakh the Sandero will compete with the Swift, Skoda Fabia, and the proposed Honda Jazz. The Renault Sandero in India is expected to roll out from the company’s Nashik plant. In the current market scenario, the company has high hopes from the launch of the Sandero.

Porsche Cayenne Diesel Ready to Hit Indian Car Market

Porsche has introduced its first diesel car that is soon going to hit Indian roads. The Cayenne diesel is expected to be launched in the last quarter of 2009 with a price tag of Rs 64,950,000.

The Porsche Cayenne diesel will have the same design cues and style as the petrol variant. The only difference will be in the engine that will be replaced by a 3.0-litre V6 engine that generates 240 bhp. The powerful diesel engine will be mated to Tiptronic S transmission that will enable the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.3 seconds and reach a maximum speed of 214 km/h.

The diesel counterpart will also have innovative technologies like Porsche Stability Management and Porsche Traction Management to enhance the driving dynamics.

The Cayenne diesel will be a good competitor in the diesel segment. But only 19 cars are allotted for the Indian car market so only 19 lucky people will get a chance to own the excellent diesel car.

Volkswagen’s Pune Plant to Produce 110,000 Vehicles

Volkswagen has created a new milestone in its Indian journey by opening a new plant at Chakan near Pune. Set up at a whopping cost of Rs 3,800 crore, the Pune plant will start manufacturing the Skoda Fabia from May. The new facility comes as a clear signal for the further development of Volkswagen brands in India.

Most modern in the Volkswagen Group, with Pune facility is the only production plant operated by any German automaker in India where the entire production process from press shop to final assembly takes place. It is also the 61st production plant of the Volkswagen in the world. Volkswagen is likely to start manufacturing a hatchback version of the Volkswagen Polo specially developed for the Indian market from this facility from 2010.

Volkswagen has plans to employ some 2,500 people at the Pune plant by the end of 2010. In 2008, the Volkswagen Group produced 6.347 million vehicles worldwide, some 66.2 percent (4.201 million) of which were built outside Germany.

Indian automobile market is vibrant is still high despite the impact of the financial and economic crisis. According to experts, the Indian car market will grow from the present 1.2 million vehicles to over 2 million vehicles by 2014. Volkswagen which is already been manufacturing Skoda, Volkswagen and Audi models from its Aurangabad since eight years, is all set to take its root here. Not only this, the company has been investing in the Indian supplier industry and wants to expand its dealer network throughout the country.

Nano is the creation of Ratan Tata that marks a new milestone in the history of global car market. Earlier many of the auto manufacturers questioned the veracity of the project but then when the Nano was finally launched everyone was amazed.

Now when the world’s cheapest car Tata Nano is launched in India, Tata Motors is making efforts to launch the car in international markets like Africa, South East Asia, Europe, U.S. and UK. The European version of the Nano has already been unveiled and is expected to roll out by 2011. But the American version will take another three years to roll out.

According to Ratan Tata the Nano has to be redesigned before launching it in the U.S. market. Some cosmetic changes and few additional features will mark the redesigning of the American Nano. And as it the safety and emission norms in U.S. are more stringent than the norms applicable in the Indian car market.

These small changes in the Nano will add extra cost along with the cost of shipping the Nano from Indian facility. Even with an increased price tag the American version of the Nano will definitely be one of the best small cars plying on American roads.

Mahindra-Renault has recently launched Logan CNG in India with a 12 kg tank fitted to the highly responsive 1.6-litre petrol engine. Generating a power output of 84 bhp the new version of the Logan wears a green conscience.

The exterior of the new car is highlighted by beautiful adornments like chrome plated front grille, body coloured bumpers, body side moulding, and rear fog lamp enhance. And in the interior the car is packed with refined and functional technologies like cabin heater, front head restrain, lumbar support, ergonomically designed seats, and parcel shelf.
