Hyundai Santro always remained as one of the popular model from the small car segment and was sold in big numbers. Now Hyundai Motors is planning to roll out a car smaller than Santro.
The car details and the price is not yet revealed but it is expected to hit the Indian roads by 2011. Currently, due to the global recession, car manufacturers are experiencing a dip and this is definitely not the right time for any new launches.
The car brand is presently busy with its export numbers that are enough in numbers to keep them busy for some time. Recently Hyundai reached the landmark of 20 lakh sales and as gesture of goodwill, the company handed the over the 20th lakh car over to the NGO — CRY (Child Rights and You). The popular bollywood actor and the Hyundai’s brand ambassador Shah Rukh Khan did the honor of handing the keys to Irwin Fernandes, Director of West and Volunteer Action, CRY.

Hyundai Motors India has made a great impact with its i10 model in the Indian car market and now the company is working on the next i-series model. i 20 from the hatchback segment is expected to launch by November 2008.
Recently showcased at the 2008 Paris Motor Show, this 5-seater is built on a new platform and is customized to European tastes in terms of looks, ride and handling. The new car carries a longer wheelbase than its Getz model and more spacious with vibrant appearance and exciting latest technologies.
The car is expected to roll out in both the petrol and diesel versions and would be competing against It is widely believed that the car would be rolled out in both the petrol and diesel versions and would be pitted against Maruti Suzuki’s Swift. However, the price of the car is not yet revealed but it will be definitely costlier than Hyundai i10.

Does any one remember a car called Hyundai Elantra, which made its debut in 2003 but later in the year the 2006 it was phased out and the production was stopped. Now Hyundai Motors will be rolling out a new model called Hyundai Avante that will replace Elantra.
Avante was displayed at the 2008 Auto Expo and is expected to hit the Indian roads by July this year. It will be available both in petrol and diesel version and is expected fall in the price ranging from Rs.9 – 11 Lakh.

Small car are the center of attraction now and are always in news. Their popularity in India is growing in a big way. Now the latest news about them is that the Congress UPS government has given tax sops to the Indian auto industry and this means that small car will be cheaper now. Now this is the time to rejoice for the new car buyers. Wait there is more to small cars; they will be still cheaper by Rs. 9,000-14,000 as there will be exemption of customs duty on steel too.
There will be a reduction of 4% in excise duty from 12%. There will be a huge difference in the price now and the sales figure of the small cars are gonnna go very high. There is another segment which has also undergone a reduction in duty from 24% to 14% and that in the hybrid section. Toyota Motors will be benefited with this reduction and later Hyundai motors, as they are planning to roll out their hybrid car in India very soon.

The low cost cars have become the latest trend in India now. Every car makers are on the verge of rolling out cheap cars. the start was put by our own Tata Nano which is yet to be launched commercially and now it the turn of Hyundai motors to be in the news for their low cost cars which they plans to roll out in India by 2011.
Demands for small cars are increasing over the past few years. In countries like China, India as well as African countries, one can always expect a demand for basic cars that can combine modern comfort with safety at fraction of the cost. It also spells luxury in a small amount. When Tata initially announced to launch its ultra cheap cars or one lakh car, initially they were ridiculed by the auto world but it only now they are realized the importance and are joining the race in building up low cost cars. This tells that Nano is going to have a tough competition.
