Top 10 Car Battery Maintenance Tips

Car battery is the rechargeable battery that provides electric power to various car components. The elementary function of the battery is to kick start the car. In addition, the battery offers additional power for various electronic elements in the car.

If the car battery acts as an integral part of the car, then it’s very significant to take good care of the battery. Seasonal checks and periodic maintenance of the car battery is essential to raise life of the battery as well prevent various ignition issues.

Signs of Low Battery

Here are some of the warning signs that indicate low or failing car battery:

  • Dim dash lights

  • Low headlights

  • Slow ignition

  • Ineffective car air-conditioner

  • Short circuit in the electric wires

  • Improper working of various car electronic

  1. First of all, it is crucial to keep the battery clean and free from debris. To do so you can use bicarbonate of soda and a non-metallic brush to remove any corrosion from the battery cables.

  2. Then, unplug the cables and clean the surface area encircling the battery terminals and cables.

  3. To withdraw the battery cables first unplug the negative cables and then the positive.

  4. Take away the battery cover and check the electrolyte level. The level should be about half an inch deep. If the level is low, add clean distilled water and allow it to mix well with the battery acid.

  5. Check the battery case for any kind of leak and breaks. If in case there’s any crack replace the battery casing.

  6. Ensure the car battery is well secured inside an insulated battery case. While driving there are vibrations felt that may damage the battery. Don’t over secure the battery with firmly placed clamps as this may hamper the functioning of the battery.

  7. Car battery is composed of dangerous battery acid. Be careful when you remove the battery or replace it.

  8. To reinstall the battery cables, first connect the positive cables and then the negative.

  9. Apply a little petroleum jelly onto the battery terminal before fastening the cable clamps to the posts. This gelatinous substance will help slow down corrosion and enhance the battery.

  10. Today many different types of car batteries are available. In some of the batteries you would find indicator lights. If there is a green indicator, it tells that the battery is functioning effectively, if the light turns black it tells that the battery needs to be recharged, and if the indicator turns yellow or no colour, it tells that the battery needs to be replaced.

Maruti Cars with Best Apeal

Hyundai i20 ready to roll out

Korean car major Hyundai Motors India is all set to launch the the next i-series in India. The five door hatchback i20 will hit the Indian roads by December end.New Hyundai i20 Cars in India

In October i20 made its debut at the 2008 Paris Motor Show. The new car which will be manufactured at the Chennai plant will be powered by the 1.4-litre petrol Kappa engine. The Kappa engine was first fitted to Hyundai’s most popular hatchback- Hyundai i10.

In November this year the first shipment of Hyundai i20 was exported to Europe. This model is expected to replace Getz in the European market. i20 is expected carry the price tag ranging from Rs 5.08 Lakh and Rs 5.24 Lakh will compete with Suzuki Swift and Skoda Fabia.

Hope like i10, i20 too will experience the fruit of success in India.

Maruti Suzuki launches Green Cabs

Car manufacturers are joining the ‘ green revolution’ by rolling out eco-friendly cars. Indian car major Maruti Suzuki is thinking ‘green’ too and launched ‘Green Cabs’ in the Andhra Pradesh. This concept will be supported by Maruti M800 AC Duo powered by LPG . New Maruti Suzuki 800 Cars in India

Green Cabs will be also assisted with the GPRS system which is linked to a call centre, monitoring the movement of the vehicle. Green Cabs will have lowest fares compared to other taxi fare.
