Audi Q5 in India by 2009

Renowned premium car manufacturers Audi is planning to assemble its model Q5, a Crossover Utility Vehicle locally. Q5 made its debut globally earlier this year. The assembling, which is expected in Aurangabad facility near Pune will take place only if the volume of this luxury car is high enough.

The company would have to confirm the Q5 to suit the Indian conditions and could hit the Indian shores not before the second half of 2009.

Audi’s sports car R8 made its debut in India that carried a price tag of Rs. Rs1.17 crore that excludes Octroi, registration and transportation costs. Looks like Audi has great expectation over with its R8, as the luxury car manufacturer is confident of selling 20 cars during next year.

Audi Rejoices Sales in India

The global recession has affected the car industry in a big way. Every car manufacturer is undergoing tremendous pressure. The sales are down; many are cutting down its production. Car manufacturers have also delayed new car launches because of the poor market condition.

However, the surprising part is that, the luxury car market is rejoicing its sales in India. Renowned luxury car manufacturer from Germany, Audi recorded 203 percent growth despite the present crisis.  Audi India rolls out Audi A4, Audi A6, Audi A8, Audi Q7, Audi R8 and Audi TT. Among these luxurious models, A4 and Q7 are the highest selling in the country.

The demand for luxury cars in India is very high and people prefer to commute in premium cars. The other luxury car players like Mercedes-Benz and BMW also tasted a good growth in India.

Maruti Suzuki’s Truly Indian car

India’s renowned car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki India said that it would be displaying ‘Made in India’ compact car by 2010-11.  A team of engineers from Maruti-Suzuki’s R&D centre is putting in full effort on the design and the details of this completely indigenize passenger car.

In order to buck up the project, the company is in the process of hiring more engineers for this ‘Made in India’ car. The detail of the car is not reveled. Maruti Suzuki is working in full swing for this new compact car.

Currently the company’s Gurgaon plant manufactures 7 lakh cars while the Manesar unit rolls out another 2.4 lakh cars every year. The company is also in talks with vendors to bring down supplier costs considerably.

Recently company rolled out the global car A-star from its stable. This is the first global car produced exclusively in India.

Skoda Low Cost Car for India

Skoda Auto, renowned luxury car manufacturer, is planning for a low-cost car for India. Cheap car project is still a thought and not on the paper, but company is seriously thinking of working on the small car.

The company is studying the  Indian market condition for its project and if every thing falls on track, then the company is expected to start working on the car very soon. Small cars are the best suited for India in every terms. Small car dominates the Indian car market and more people opt for small cars. They are best suited for the Indian roads and easy to park because of their compact size.

Skoda sees a good future in the Indian car industry and plans to roll out more cars to the country. India is the most promising markets in the global auto industry. The company will also roll out all new Superb to India by 2009.

Currently Skoda India stable includes models like Fabia, Octavia, Superb and Laura. All these cars have recorded a good success in the Indian car market since the time of their launch in country.

Toyota Prius Hybrid launch delayed in India

The next on the list of ‘Green car’ for the Indian market Toyota Prius hybrid launch is on hold. The reason for the delay is said to be the infrastructure concern, the heavy-duty structure and the inability to launch at a competitive price.

Honda was the first to launch Civic hybrid with the price tag of Rs 21 Lakh. Recently the price slashed to Rs 13 Lakh for a limited period and this in turn has also affected the Toyota’s plan to launch the Prius hybrid in India.

The company was thinking of rolling out Prius hybrid in India by 2009 with the price tag ranging from Rs 20-22 lakh. Globally Toyota and Honda are the leading car manufacturers of hybrid vehicles.

According to Toyota Kirloskar, “the company is still evaluating the conditions for the hybrid car. However, Fortuner from the SUV segment is expected to hit the Indian roads by mid 2009 and compact car by 2010.

New Skoda Superb Showcased in Mumbai

New Skoda Superb was the highlight of the 2008 Auto car Performance Show organized in Mumbai. The all-new Superb was launched as a token of gesture for the company’s 7 year of completion in India. The new Superb will be out on the Indian roads by 2009.

The car is propelled by 1.8 TSI, 3.6 V6 FSI (petrol) versions and 2.0 TDI (diesel) variants. The new Superb is the blend of high quality material, luxurious features and innovative technology. Skoda cars in India are popular despite its expensive price tags. It shines in terms of creative design, safety and performance.

Skoda never had to look back since it entry into the Indian car market. Currently Skoda is working on small car for India and other markets. The small car is expected to hit the Indian roads launched in the span of 3-4 years.

Mitsubishi to trim down its car production

Renowned car manufacturer from Japan, Mitsubishi Motorsis expected to cut down the production at its factory in Japan by up to 1, 00,000 units from this November.

The slow sales is said to be the reason for this drastic decision. The company will be reducing the production capacity of cars and SUVs. The economic pressure has given a great pinch to the car manufacturers resulting in slow car sales.

Another car major from Japan Toyota Motors, one of the healthiest car manufacturers as reflected by its AAA debt rating, is also thinking of posting its first quarterly sales decline in seven years.

The production cut will affect the number of models rolled out. This in turn will affect the Indian market too in a big way.

So, now after a long wait, the shining A-Star from Maruti Suzuki has landed on earth. The car makes a thrilling debut in the Indian car industry with its brilliant styling, unmatched performance and excellent fuel efficiency.

Audi Sales High in India

Every car manufacturers are experiencing a slow growth due to the financial crunch. Many car majors are even cutting down the production and some production plant is said to be shutdown.

People are holding on to their investment and the car sales is almost stagnant, with out any growth. But despite the sales commotion in the Indian car industry, it is surprising to know that luxury car segment is segment is rejoicing sales in India.

 

Audi, renowned luxury car manufacturer from Germany recorded a sales growth of 203 percent. From Audi India’s stable Audi A4 and Q7 are the highest selling models in the country. Even other luxury car manufacturers like Mercedes-Benz and BMW also experienced a good growth during this economic pressure. This is the clear example stating that the high-class society.

A-Star to Be Out Soon

Here is the good news for the Maruti fans, the much-awaited global car Maruti Suzuki A-Star will make a grand entry in the Indian car market on November 19. Hailing from the hatchback segment, A-Star was showcased at the 2008 Auto Expo New Delhi. A-Star by an eco-friendly engine that complies with Euro IV and Euro V emission norms for the European markets.

A-Star will be a 3-cylinder 12-valve MPFI unit that will churn out 66 bhp. There are some similarities of its competitor Hyundai i10 in terms of dimensions. The new Maruti Suzuki A-Star will be available in thee variants – Lxi, Vxi, and Zxi.

In India, it will be called as A-Star and it will be the first model with B series engines in India. This global car is expected to carry the price tag of Rs. 3.85 lakh. The company is also working on another model by 2011, which will be truly and completely designed by the he Indian engineering team.
