The demand for cars in India is raising everyday and the car manufacturers are having a boost in their sales. During last year Mahindra & Mahindra who sells its famous SUV’s Bolero and Scorpio had good sales in the domestic market.
Both domestic and export sales grew by an approximate 56 per cent in April with total sales of 20,030 vehicles. The company’s joint venture with French automaker Renault- Logan also saw good sales.

Maruti Suzuki, India’s largest carmaker is doing too good with their Swift model. The sales crossed two lakh units. Swift was launched three years ago and now has become one of the fastest selling models in India.
This premium hatchback is available in five variants: LXi, VXi, ZXi, LDi, and VDi. The splendid 1.3L 4-cylinder petrol and a new 1.3L 4-cylinder CRDe diesel engine power this car has been labeled as one of the popular models. The popularity of the petrol version inspired the inspired the company to launch a diesel variant in January 2007.

India is turning in to a greener world with too many revolutionary ideas. Earlier it was Tata’s ultra cheap car and now we have electric car.
The credit of developing this electric car called ‘e-on’ goes to IIT, Mumbai. As the types indicates, this car does not require petrol and runs at the speed of 30 kmph, right now the speed is limited but it can be increased gradually.
It is a two-seater with front wheel drive and is also expected to have an improvised design in future for its launch commercially. The car is ready for the test run but initially in the campus of IIT-B. Hope this car will be a great success in making India greener.

Tata’s Nano launch has created a repel among the auto industry across the world. Now other car makers are also trying to bring out more models and options for existing models to beat up the Nano fever.
Hyundai is also set to launch the diesel variants of i10 by 2010 and Santa Fe – its premium SUV (sports utility vehicle) – in India in April 2008. But for an immediate action, Hyundai is planning to roll out i20 in India – an upgraded version of i10 compact car – by the end of next year as said to major Business daily by its spokesperson.

Indian auto market is overflowing with foreign car makers. This is the positive sign of Indian car market. We already have Italian car makers in India but now an Italian sports car maker Maserati is plans enter into Indian market. The company is looking for a distributor in India. The initial sales are going to be very low but the market for luxury cars will pick up faster sales in India.
The talks for are still on with the locals vendors and the company will announce its distributor officially in coming months.

How will like if your car starts giving you a mileage of 250 kmpl? The first reaction is gonnna be: wow! But is it possible? Yes it is. A group seven engineering students from Rayat Institute of Engineering and Information Technology, Ropar have developed a concept car that is believed to give an unbelievable mileage 250 km per litre.
The seven member group includes Gaurav Aggarwal, Mayank Tyagi, Bhavuk Makkar, Arun Salaria, Rahul Kumar, Ramandeep Singh and Navneet Kumar and it took them five months of hard work to bring out this concept car.
With fuel prices going high, I think this is going to be a good option. Hope the concept car turns into a reality and soon hits the roads.

Here it is the new version of Tata Indica launched by Tata Motors. The new variant Indica V2 Xeta LPG is enhanced with a dual fuel engine for petrol and LPG. The duel engine reduces which reduces CO2 emissions by about 10 per cent and LPG. It carries the price tag ranging from Rs 3.27-Rs 3.42 Lakh ex-showroom Delhi.
The engine is powered by 1.2 liter MPFI engine featuring two Electronic Control Units and offers excellent fuel efficiency both in the city and on highways.

Maruti Dzire, which was recently launched has received a great success, the sales have gone so high that it has made Maruti a leader in the auto market in India. This new sedan is the perfect car for the middle class both in terms of performance and affordability.
The other model which deserves an appreciation is SX4, which has also boosted the Maruti sales in the A3 segment. Alto, WagonR and Swift already dominated in the A2 segment.

Skoda is all set to foray the Indian auto market. The company is planning to roll out eight new models to India in next five years and will cover every segment from multi-purpose vehicles (MPV) and the sports utility vehicles (SUV).
Skoda’s Roomster multi-utility vehicle is expected to be out by 2008 end, whereas the 2009 will see the Fabia Combi- the stretched version of the hatchback and a new Superb Skoda Yeti by 2010.
Though the company was a little resisted entering the small car mart but now with the latest boom for small carand reduced tax on small cars in India, they are also working on this small car project.
